Cyber Desk · Insight. Series: Digital disputes, as Indian courts actually see them.

Custody of a cloud admin account can matter more than custody of a laptop shell.

After a founder exit, everyone argues about who kept the laptop. The sharper fight is often who held the AWS root, the Google Workspace admin, or the domain registrar login. A metal shell without credentials is a prop. Control of the account that can wipe, export, or alter the estate is custody in substance. When the dispute starts, ask who could still log in as admin — not only who locked the office drawer.

Laptop in hand.
