Editorial Policy

How the Legal Research & Education Desk selects, structures, updates, and corrects educational legal material.

Editorial independence. Desk notes are structured by the platform. They are not sponsored placements or advertisements for professional employment.
Primary-source preference. Where a statute, rule, judgment, or official notification is available, it is preferred over secondary summaries.
Legal source verification. Citations should point to identifiable primary or reputable secondary sources. See Source verification.
Secondary sources. News desks and commentary may flag developments; they are not treated as the operative legal text.
Original analysis. Explainers and research notes are written in the desk’s own language. Competitor articles are not republished.
Updates. Material changes in law may trigger revision of Featured / Cyber Desk notes. News notes are time-bound educational rewrites.
Corrections. Factual or citation errors are handled under the Corrections policy.
Date handling. Published and last-reviewed dates are shown where maintained. Readers should not treat an undated scrape as current law.
Jurisdiction. Default jurisdiction is India unless a note states otherwise.
