Cyber Desk · Insight. Series: Digital disputes, as Indian courts actually see them.

Dark-pattern ‘Accept all’ is a UX choice. Assent questions remain legal questions.

A cookie wall greets the user with one large button. Later a DPDP grievance arrives: “they clicked Accept all.” Design can nudge. Law still asks what was disclosed, what was bundled, whether refusal was a real option, and what the click actually covered. A prominent button is a product decision. Quality of consent is argued from the path — not the colour of the CTA.

Accept-all is interface.

Consent still has to be shown.
